Holiday In Penang
December 14, 2012I think I have been to Penang. Maybe yes, maybe not. I can't even remember now. However, thanks to Brynn, I get the chance to visit Penang!!! I was so excited because I can't recall how Penang look like. Unfortunately, we took plane to Penang so we didn't get to opportunity to be on the infamous Penang bridge.
And we reached Penang!!!
Thanks to Eric, OMSA president (Yes I must mention this here), came and pick us up for a tour in Penang. He was willing to be our driver during our three days trip in Penang. Thank you so much, Eric.
Firstly, we visited the Snake Temple which was about 20minutes from the airport.
There was a Kuan Yin Pavillion too.
Brynn and I outside the Snake Temple
Penang is famous for their foods. It is a must-try when you're in Penang.
It looks like Rojak to me but they actually called this Pasembur. At first I was like "huh? Placebo?".
Looks like har mee but it's actually Hokkien Mee. The worst thing is that when they started speaking hokkien and I'm like "errrr.....yeap soya bean" WTF. Brynn was teasing me because he understand SOME hokkien when he paid the bill. Pfftttt.
Anyway, FOODS in PENANG ARE SO CHEAP. AHHHHHHHH.
You can just do nothing and eat whole day. Hmmm.
Jamie joined us for the little trip and we went to visit the tourist's spot - The Hard Rock Hotel, Penang.
Liki and Jamie
Jamie, Eric and Liki.Oh, and the Beatles =)
Selt-timer =D
Hard Rock Cafe
Have a rocking Day =D
Next we went to Straits Quay, Penang. One of the reclaimed land, I think.
I so wanted to try the Charlie Brown Cafe but no one seemed to be excited except for myself. Oh wells.
Malaysia's weather is too hot to withstand. Chilled at Fruuze, Straits Quay. I have to say, their yoghurt are so much cheaper and worth than those in KL.
It was quiet because I think it's weekday. Unlike KL, everyday is a busy day.
Books of Christmas tree.
Little me with giant Christmas tree.
On the next day, we went to Kek Lok Si Temple as the start of our tour.
Hi there.
Famous Kek Lok Si Temple
Actually I saw the China women keep standing here to take picture so once she left, I took this background as well LOL.
Sheep. Meeeeekkkkkk
Up up to Bukit Bendera
too-tooo-train
Short of like mini Genting. Not as cold as Genting but so much more cooling than below.
Sinful foods
Time to visit Murray Arts.
This just reminds me of Pulau Ketam but I like the feel of it.
First time having steamboat since I'm back in Malaysia.
Kinda unique. It's like Bar-B-Q Plaza but in the opposite because the main cooking process is boiling while grilling for Bar-B-Q Plaza.
I can't tell if Penang or KL is hotter but definitely hotter than Dunedin. Why is Dunedin too cold and here too hot. Where's the perfect weather?
There goes my second day of trip and third day of trip, we watched The Hobbit before leaving. Why is there so little people on the premiere of The Hobit in cinema at Penang? You can't even buy a ticket in KL. I bet the front row is filled up.
Another thing that I was excited about and no one cares, was the RAINBOW CAKE. I am not sure if they have it in KL but I definitely wanted to try one of these when I saw it.
It's not cheap though. That piece for RM10.90. But hey, surprisingly it was quite delicious!
Last picture before leaving Vistana Hotel, Penang
I insisted to take picture with the Christmas tree in the hotel before leaving.
Why oh why, don't we all just love Christmas?
I don't think I can stay in Penang because I can't speak Hokkien at all. Okay fine, I pulled white flag. I kept teasing Brynn for not knowing Hokkien but ended up he knew better than me HAHA.
