The Midwinter Carnival is a spectacular celebration of the longest night and shortest day in Dunedin. An estimated 10,000 spectators attended last year's event.

The theme of this year's Carnival Procession is ‘Night Creatures’ so you can see some beautiful giant lanterns in the form of weta, owls, stars and moon. Procession performers are always a major highlight with outstanding costumes created by local fashion designers.

I was invited by my boyfriend to attend this carnival. Then, I invited Siew Lee to join us along :D Both of us have no idea what this carnival is about. It's sorta like Dunedin's culture XD

We reached there around 6.30pm :D It was crowded ! I think this is the first time I realised there's a lot of people in Dunedin LOL

It was quite cheap ! We sang for two hours and it's only $8.50 ! :D It's consider very cheap here already XD Can't wait for more events tomorrow ! Holiday is so fun!!!
