Malaysian Day 2012
July 14, 2012Hello everyone! I'm back into blogging! Well, not exactly. I'm sorry for the bad "missing-in-action" habits that I'm so used to. It is really hard to keep myself writing all the time!
Someone told me "hey, writing a blog could improve on your writing sills". My subjects in second semester are starting to be more assignment-based, hence I think I might start blogging more to improve on my assignments and gaining back my readers. Killing two birds with one stone? Hopefully :)
Anyway, I became active in Otago Malaysian Student Association (OMSA) here in my University since Siew Lee and I decided to participate in performing for Malam Malaysia this year. I think it was great that we actually stepped out of our comfort to meet more Malaysians here (Make me feel that I am actually doing something here at University LOL) I can't even remember what I did last year besides laying back. I was given an opportunity to be in-charge of Chinese dance performance. Thanks to Amanda, Tracy and Siew Lee for helping me through the performance. We edited the song and choreographed the dance all on our own! I still remember we only did it in a week (or less) and were asked to performed at the Octagon, Dunedin. We freaked out and practised everyday until the performance day.
I did it right and didn't mix up the both of them here! I keep calling Tracy as Amanda and vice versa = _=
Chinese princesses!! Siew Lee is missing because she had another dance that time.
A speech by our OMSA president
The weather was horrible! It was raining heavily and windy. The floor was wet and our feet were freezing!!
Truck for performers to stay in
Dancing dancing~ So cold!!!
There were rocks and glasses on the floor. There were few people who had cuts on their feet so I tried my best to be careful and avoid those rocks.
Our final pose! Flower!
The damn wind keep blowing my hair, covering my face. =___=
Chinese princesses in the truck!
Boyfriend came and gave support even though it was raining heavily. He was also my cameraman and videographer.
Awwwww thank you boyfie :)
Liki and Siew Lee. We were blending in the crowds because we are performing flashmob as the last dance for Malaysian day.
We danced to "Maroon 5 - Move Like Jagger" as our first song with others.
front part is both of our solo part
Siew Lee looked so yeng here!
It supposed to be damn cold but when I was dancing, I can't feel the coldness. I finally understand how ang moh here wear shorts or mini skirt on the cold day.
Look at the spirits that we are having!
FUNNNNNN :D The second song we danced to was "Carly - Call Me Maybe"
Thanks to Elwyn and Melissa coming for supporting!!! :D

I had so much fun performing for the first time overseas! The last time I danced was at least 2 years ago. Picking up dancing again just make me feel revived and sometimes I feel like only by using music or dancing can truly express one's feeling. After all, they say Action Speaks Louder Than Words right? :)
PS: We appeared on newspaper published and online as well! Great job people!!
